Sleek Silvery Hues on a Timeless Evergreen
Why Colorado Blue Spruce Trees?
With silvery blue-green tones year-round, a sleek pyramidal silhouette, and straightforward, no-nonsense care, the Colorado Blue Spruce Tree ticks all the boxes of a landscape must-have. Its columnar shape and stiff, crisp needles set it apart from other evergreen varieties. Not to mention that its deer resistant and drought tolerant!
And when it comes to planting and care, the Colorado couldn’t be easier to maintain. This well-known beauty withstands wind better than most spruces because it boasts a widespread, deeper root system. Plus, it’s long-lived (seriously…it can last hundreds of years!) and provides food and shelter for graceful wildlife, like siskins, crossbills, and nuthatches.
Even better? It adapts well to a variety of soils, from acidic to clay, and requires normal moisture with moderate tolerance to drought. Also, with a manageable growth rate of 12 to 24 inches per year, it’s easy to acclimate to your landscape with its uniform growth and symmetrical branching.
Basically, the Colorado Blue Spruce Tree is not just your typical evergreen – especially since its needles are 95% blue. Whether you’re looking for an all-natural privacy screen or windbreak, these Spruces are ideal for planting in a row and are the best selection for container growing. A festive twist in the form of light brown, 3 to 4-inch cones concentrated in the upper crown makes it a delightful backyard beauty during the holidays and beyond.

Beautiful tree, but…
The tree arrived after I checked on the order that was placed in December. Unfortunately I found out from a plant expert that this tree will likely not survive here in MN. There’s a fungus affecting spruce trees. I did not know about this.
Green not Blue
As others have stated in the reviews, this Colorado Blue Spruce is not blue. It is green. I purchased one from my local Home Depot as well and it is clearly blue compared to the one from this company. See photos attached, first one is Home Depot (blue) and second photo is from here (green). Aside from the color being off, the one from Home Depot is thriving and growing faster that the one I got from here. I added Root Rocket to this one, but not the one from Home Depot, which I used just Holly Tone. Nonetheless, the plant is doing just fine and I would purchase more. Just keep in mind that you may be getting a green tree, not a blue one as described.
Colorado Blue Spruce
This tree was beautiful when it arrived. It had a ton of new growth on it. Looks great in our yard.
Looking Good
I planted 2 Colorado Blue Spruces in our pet cemetery a few weeks ago. They are looking good. We live in western North Carolina, zone 7.
Very nice Colorado Blue Spruce trees
I received my four Colorado blue spruce trees today. They were each approx 4 feet tall and very healthy looking. I don’t know they survived shipping as they were very heavy, packed two to a box. The boxes were struggling to stay together, but nonetheless all was well when I opened them. I immediately planted and watered them, and now it’s just wait and see how they do. I am very pleased with the quality of these trees.
